Morning Light in Black and White Week 25

This is our final week of seeing light in black and white and it has been one of my favorite months in our blog circle. I love black and white photography! They say when you photograph in color you capture the clothes, but when you photograph in black and white you capture the soul. That may not pertain to this subject, but even here the black and white draws the eye into the light and depth created by the shadows. This image was captured in an area of my home where I like to say the light dances for a short time each morning. Morning light is some of my favorite indoor light, while golden hour light is my favorite outdoor light. This is Ben's guitar resting in our family room. Without the sun we have no shadows.

Please continue along our blog circle to my friend and photographer, Erica Collin's interpretation of light in black and white by clicking HERE. Erica and I are taking a fine art photography class together and I am quite sure both of our images will come from our work in class this week. Erica is a master at capturing her children with stunning use of light in her home.

A special congratulations to my friend and fellow blog circle member, Jill Cassara, who was recently recognized as a CMPro. You can view her portfolio at

I also worked on my website this week; you can view it here at Over the coming weeks, I will be building the site out in preparation of offering sessions this spring for senior and family portraiture work.
